Post Rock/Instrumental/Indie powerhouse duo Collapse Under The Empire  reigning from Hamburg, Germany have released another stunning EP entitled The Silent Cry. Chris Burda and Martin Grimm formed the band in 2008 and have solidified a strong following in the post-rock community.

This duo has been known to put raw emotion to sound and this EP radiates with such depth and power. It’s the type of music that can be put to any scenario and immediately make it gripping and alluring. It’s the soundtrack to your own film reel of life and experiences.

The music places you into the seedy fog-ridden cityscape depicted on the artwork, similar to a back alley from The Crow movies or a scene in Dark City. The music is haunting yet playful and percolates with dark images while leading you along like a buoy in a winding river.  While post-rock may not be for everyone, it’s a blossoming mental escape from the mundane that lets your imagination take you on a foreboding journey.

The album features a cover of Depeche Mode‘s haunted instrumental “Stjarna” and they completely pull it off.
