Parabelle (which features ex-Evans Blue frontman Kevin Matisyn) have released their (kickstarter-funded) 3rd album titled “Your Starry Eyes Will Never Make Us Even” on August 21, 2012.

Parabelle has been a consistent performer with their releases. Solid rock songs with a sharp flare, unique melodies, and  Kevin’s unmistakable knack for melody. Like most popular rock bands, the songs are predictable on the first listen and lack any enticement to keep your attention. What I admire about Parabelle is that they stray from that path and express a fresh sound whether vocally or instrumentally. This album is no exception.

For Fans of: 10 Years, Breaking Benjamin, Janus

Now, it’s a little peculiar that the first track is  titled ‘Tear the Blue’, is this a jab at (the currently more successful) Evans Blue?  Vocalist Dan Chandler took over the lead role of Evans Blue in 2009 and their latest album ‘Graveyard of Empires’ peaked at #9 on the US Hard Rock charts.  But with 3 full length albums under their belt, Parabelle is still struggling to break ground with those unfamiliar with pre-Chandler Evans Blue.

Key tracks: Tear The Blue, Let It Out, Listen

Overall it’s a satisfying rock record, worth a few immediate listens and then stashed in your daily playlist.
