Tool’s founding bassist Paul D’Amour returns with a new project, Feersum Ennjin.

The debut album had an original release date of Nov. 15th, but the album has been set to release on Nov 22nd with a late track addition titled “The Fourth” with former band mate Danny Carey of Tool on drums. “The Fourth” was originally set to be on a follow up album, but D’Amour felt the track fit all to well with the rest of the album to leave it out.

As for origin of the band name, a quick Wikipedia search will lead you right to a 1994 sci-fi novel titled “Feersum Endjinn”. Here’s the plot summary:
The book is set on a far future Earth where the uploading of mindstates into a world-spanning computer network  (known as “the data corpus”, “cryptosphere” or simply “crypt”) is commonplace, allowing the dead to be easily reincarnated (though by custom, only a limited number of reincarnations are allowed).

Interesting. Moving on…
